By Community,
For Community
Join us in building a more equitable, resilient, and vibrant community in Kensington, Harrowgate and Fairhill.
About Our Work
The Kensington Community Resilience Fund seeks to promote wellness, build resilience, and improve the quality of life for residents in Kensington, Harrowgate, and Fairhill who have been most harmed by Philadelphia’s opioid crisis. Through our place-based, participatory funding model, we work to transform the prevailing narratives about Kensington by amplifying community voices and celebrating the vibrancy, strength, and resiliency of these communities.
We are a public-private-community partnership between the Scattergood Foundation, and most importantly, community members. Together, we give residents and community leaders power, resources, and agency to fund organizations addressing their most urgent priorities and needs. Our work seeks to build equity, address systemic injustices, strengthen community connections and capacity, and catalyze sustainable, long-term partnerships between community members, local providers, funders and city government.
Our Goals
Promote wellness, build resilience, and improve the quality of life in Kensington, Harrowgate and Fairhill.
Increase agency, build equity, and advance racial and social justice by giving community partners and residents power to direct funding decisions.
Build cohesion and connectivity among community partners, residents, and city agencies to support collaboration, information sharing, and alignment of services.
Expand the capacity of organizations and individuals we support to provide sustainable programming that improves resident quality of life.
Serve as a catalyst and build the infrastructure to support long-term, sustained investment and partnership with funders in the Kensington community.
What We Fund
