The KCR Fund grant will be crucial in expanding our musical programming to support youth affected by trauma and violence. Our primary focus will be on funding musical initiatives at the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center, where we will provide a therapeutic outlet for children in crisis, helping them to heal and express themselves through music.
Additionally, we will allocate funds to facilitate Mobile Studio Events throughout the region. These events aim to meet youth where they are, making music accessible and engaging. By bringing our mobile studios directly to communities, we can connect with youth who may not have access to traditional programming.
We will support and collaborate with the amazing partner RideFree, ensuring continuity and consistent support for the participants by integrating our musical programs with their ongoing initiatives. Our efforts will also extend to locations such as McPherson Library, where we will partner with local organizations to offer mobile studio programming. This partnership will create safe and supportive environments where youth impacted by violence can explore their creativity through music.
Through these initiatives, we aim to provide consistent and high-quality musical programming for youth, offering them a constructive and healing outlet. The funds from the KCR Fund will enable us to maintain and expand these critical programs, fostering leadership and self expression growth and empowerment within our city’s talented young artists.
