SRPS will use its 2024 KCR Fund grant to support the implementation of a Community Outreach Program to help youth attending schools in communities facing high levels of adversity achieve positive youth development outcomes through enhanced team support. The Community Outreach program will serve as a scaled enhancement of the SRPS model. Funds will be used to support youth and volunteer Mentor participation in up to 5 races, including free transportation to and from race events. Funds will also support the introduction of a free restorative intervention via Drexel University’s Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice’s Healing Hurt People program as well as support a new full-time Community Outreach Manager to implement this work.
